After earning a B.S. in Chemical Engineering in Taiwan, Dr. J. C. Kuo came to the United States in 1975 with only a one-way plane ticket, borrowed airfare, and USD $900 loaned by his sister and brother-in-law. My wife and I would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the many people in both Taiwan and the United States who have supported and helped us, including our parents, relatives, teachers, and many dear friends. My sister and brother-in-law, Dr. Hahn Lin, along with their children, Dr. Cal Lin and Dr. Eta Lin, especially have shown us care and support for nearly 50+ years. They have truly helped us with their time, energy, and financial support, and we are deeply grateful.
